Coin Science Project

Science experiments have always attracted the attention of children due to their amazing aspects. They may seem like a magic to the eyes but have some sort of science involved in it. These science experiments help children to understand science in an interesting manner as a result of which the kids are able to relate to the things happening around them.

While performing these science experiments certain things have to be kept in mind such as following instructions properly and using proper safety equipments like the safety goggles, glasses, cloak, etc.

Kids should perform these science experiments under the supervision of an adult to prevent any sort of injury or accident. The Flying Coin science experiment is one of the most popular science experiments. In this article we will discuss about this experiment.

Flying coin trick :

In order to perform this Flying Coin science experiment all you need is a dime and shallow dish. First of all take a dime and place it on a table about four inches from its edge. Now place a shallow dish about eight inches from this dime. Try to blow the coin into the shallow dish.

If you blow the coin from the front, you won’t be successful in it. But if you blow sharply horizontally about two inches above the dime, you will be amazed to see that the dime will lift up and fall into the dish. This happens because when you blow air horizontally above the coin, there is a reduction in air pressure above the dime. As a result of which the surrounding normal air pressure flows from all the directions and lifts the coin, making it fall into the shallow dish.

You might have observed that this Flying Coin science experiment is pretty simple to conduct and does not require much effort at all. Children can try this science experiment at their home and show it to their friends or family members. They can even use this science experiment for science fair or school project.
