Electric Light Bulb Experiment

In today’s world of technology and innovation it has become very important for the kids to understand science and appreciate the significance of it in our life. The science experiments are the perfect tools for making kids understand science in an interesting and amusing way. These science experiments or projects are pretty simple to conduct and involve use of items of daily use which we usually find at our home. One of the most popular science experiments is the Electric Light science experiment. This experiment can be carried out by kids with ease and does not require much effort at all. One thing that has to be kept in the mind while performing these experiments is to have an adult supervision in order to prevent any kind of injury or accident.

To perform this Electric Light science experiment all you need is a voltage tester and a piece of hard foam plastic. First of all take the voltage tester and remove the small neon bulb from it. Now hold one metal end of neon bulb in a firm manner and rub the other to the piece of foam plastic in to and fro motion. Soon you will be amazed to see the bulb glow when it is rubbed to the foam plastic.

It is always better to perform this experiment in a dark room to observe the bulb glow clearly. The reason behind such an occurrence is that the foam plastic becomes electrically charged when the bulb is rubbed against it. The electrons then get transferred to the bulb making it glow immediately.

You might have observed that the Electric Light science experiment is pretty simple to carry out by the kids and does not require use of much material. Children can have a great time while trying this Electric Light science experiment at their home and can show it to their friends or family members. They can even use this science experiment for their school project or fair.
