Science experiments are perfect tools for the children to understand science in a remarkable and interesting way. These science experiments help children to develop creativity, innovative ideas and proper understanding of science due to which they are able to reason with or relate to the things that happen around them. While performing these science experiments kids should follow the instructions properly and use proper safety equipments such as safety glasses, gloves, cloaks, etc., to prevent any sort of injury or accident.
Coin in the Well Science Project :
It is always recommended to perform these science experiments under the supervision of an adult. One of the most popular science
experiments is the Coin in the Well science experiment. This experiment is quite simple to perform and involves use of common household items that we usually find at our home. In this article we will discuss about this science experiment.
To perform this Coin in the Well science experiment all you need is a dish, coin, paper and a tumbler. First of all pour some water into the dish and then put a coin in it. Now take an empty tumbler and put a burning piece of paper in it. Now place this tumbler upside down on the dish just beside the coin. Soon you will be amazed to see that the water gets sucked up in the tumbler leaving the coin outside it.
This happens because of the combustion process in the tumbler, in which the air pressure inside the tumbler is reduced. As a result of which the external air pressure pushes the water into the tumbler leaving the coin outside without water.
You might have seen that this Coin in the Well science experiment is quite simple to perform and does not require much effort at all. Children can try this science experiment at their home and show it to their friends or family members. They can even perform this experiment in their class or demonstrate in science fair.
