Air Lock Science Experiment

Airlock for Scientific Experiments :

In order to perform this Air Lock science experiment all you need is a bottle, funnel, plasticine and water. First of all take a bottle and place the funnel into its mouth. Now seal the funnel to the mouth of bottle with plasticine. The apparatus is ready now and all you have to do is pour some water in this funnel. You will be amazed to see that the water will stay in the funnel and will not pass into the bottle.

On the other because the air which is enclosed in the bottle will not allow the water to flow in the hand, the water that is present in the funnel does not allow the air to escape from the bottle. Now take a plastic straw and close one of its ends with your finger, push the opposite end of this straw through the funnel. Lift your finger and the water will start to flow in the bottle. This happens because the air is now able to escape through the straw.

You might have seen that this Air Lock science experiment is pretty simple to carry out and does not require much effort at all. Children can perform this science experiment at their home and show it to their friends or family members. They can even use this Air Lock science experiment for their school project or science fair.
